Wow- very nice job on the re-work. I like the new color better too, although it does not set off the shank cap as well. I'd point out that in the first pic the bottom of the shank maintains the curve of the shank very well, but the line that comes off tear drop takes a straight line where it shouldn...

Something about about that savinelli and stanwell looks "off"... The shank is bulbous in it's taper and, at least in the pic, the shank does not come off the bottom of the bowl at the same angle (but that could be because the pipe is slightly tilted toward the camera...) That pipe does ha...

Anyone have any experience turning long shanks? Have any trouble with it? Any tips?

I was looking at the pipe, and while you have not asked for critique (yet) I'd like to say that you have the room to fix the rounded shoulders on the shank face without losing your shape...

Wouldn't the golden ratio go from shank/bowl transition to stem, rather than mid-tobacco chamber to stem? Seems like the mid tobacco chamber area would be a rather nondescript, non-eye catching area.
