OK......
First chunk o' briar into the trashcan. :banghead:
Maybe I went a little too far "outside the box"
It certainly was looking different up till I figured out i screwed it up.
My own fault for "loose" design rather than laying it out on the block exactly I guess.
Hmmm I just had a crazy idea for rescuing it- back later with results.......maybe

Pay homage to Walle.. well Nautical inspired I picked a vampire squid.. actually I first picked a scallop on a shell, but sold it.. so I went back to my original idea of the squid.

This was the inspiration

Cool squid. Why do I have the feeling that Walle will inspire all sorts of ancient, mutated creatures from the deep?

Hi all and a happy new year to everybody!

May you all have a creative and prosperous year ahead!

And may you not be fooled by fraudulent attempts like this! I tell you gentlemen, this is surely a fake! The to be honored artist is inclined to have a little fun at our costs. Don't ask for stems or even tobacco chambers where there are none! Mr. Wallenstein has developed an attitude of creating and selling ideas, mere thoughts - what he calls "the essence of a pipe".

Well yes, the surface may be done nicely, but is this all that matters? And by the way, there seems to have been a large spot or sandpit where now is an eye - or you might say "crater". Will this do? Comrades, I am not convinced.

Cheerio!

and a Happy New Year to you all !

Steffen, now i see that i have been blinded by Genosse Wallenstein and the mere illusion of the surface, he cleverly disguises the flaws of imperfection into multilateral levels. While us the 'miserable competitors" believe such immense sandpits are the master craft of a genius.I am afraid that the finished pipes of PITH will have to go through a thorough endoscopic evaluation, less won't do...!

Cheerio,

It´s rather amusing for me, that there are still comrades out there in the pipe making cosmos who don´t seize to buy the nonsense Mr. Wallenstein excretes when he´s drunk.

Dear comrade Walle,

may I indicate to you, that you are not playing by the rules?

Your job now is to reply with all the indignation you can manage and to provoke further disrespectful comments. The end of the game is that we insult each other in German and thus invite oversized ostrogoths and the likes to join in.

Got it?!

Suffnase! :fencing:

Hi Guys,
I've been off the forum for quite a while and just returned. Is it too late to get into the PITH?

It's not too late at all, Steve! You're welcome to join in. We've still got the entire month of January ahead of us.

I'm going to start my contribution today with some noodley doodles, and see where things take me.

You better leave Theoderic The Oversized out, laddie.

As to your comment on "Ram Bo!". No, I´m not only indignant, I´m disgusted.

Much like Phil the first block went in the trash. Here is the shaped stummel for my entry.
There are a few places that will receive some rustication.

PS: By the way, this is funny - we came up with almost the same color!

Here's a first shot:
