Freehand
Haven't posted in a long time. I decided to get creative with a freehand style. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8455/8039624343_785fcd195e.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8030/8039624521_a853b2833c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8029/8039628444_4e5dd13424.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8450/80...

Beautiful pipe Nate!
Re: 1st Pipe
Andrew,
Very nice first pipe. A hell of a lot better than my first one. It looked like you could go to battle with it (way too big and bulky)

Re: Second Post-Billiard
Thanks. I have been using the premade stems from PIMO and just got my shipment from American Art plastics to start making my own. Was originally going to use it on this one but got scared at the last minute...

Second Post-Billiard
Gentlemen, I went for a billiard this time around. Please let me know what you think. Aside from the small ding on the top right side and the slightly too long stem I am pretty happy with it. Please let me know what you think. Regards, Larry http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5185/5700455436_8a4669c624_...

Re: 2nd and 3rd Pipes
Pipe making is a lot of fun. It's great to see something come out of a block of wood and piece of hardened rubber. My suggestion is to not be afraid of sanding more. My first couple of pipes I got too zealous with the sanding disc and sanded through to the tobacco chamber. I like making mistakes at ...

Thanks Wayne. That image combined with Sas's feedback helps me understand the desired look.

Re: First post- not first pipe
Massis,
Thanks for the comments. I struggled with the bend in the stem and settled for what you see here.

First post- not first pipe
Gentlemen, This is my sixth or seventh pipe and first post. The first few didn't make it past rough shaping or I gave them to friends and family. All advice is greatly appreciated Thanks, Larry http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5228/5628904196_40f2f5bd5d_m.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5146/562890...

Is this a good deal?
New to this forum. I have been shaping on a sanding arbor hooked up to a drill in a vice.
I wanted to know if this is a good deal for a lathe:

Thanks all.
