pokers are difficult

Post by notow1 »

I have discovered that pokers are difficult to do right. I will make a few more to improve so all advice and feedback is welcome, thanks, Norm.ImageImageImageImage

The shank looks like it sags downward. I think that may be due to the drilling at a forward cant. If you're doing a straight poker, you wouldn't want much of a cant at all. If you're going to have a cant, however, make the bottom of the bowl tilt a bit so the stem goes parallel to the table if it's sitting or perhaps pointed a bit upward.

Other than that, I can see a little bump between stem and shank. I can't tell if it's a gap or if it just didn't get sanded down evenly onto the shank.

Keep up the good work!

other than reversing the cant of the bowl I wouldn't change a thing on it. The color and finish are really nice, great job. :D
