Dublin CW--In Process

Post by Literaryworkshop »

Okay, this time around, I'm going to post the pipe as roughed out and get everybody's critiques beforehand.

This pipe is a commission. The buyer wanted a small-to-medium size Dublin CW with a plateaux top. Those are the only restrictions. All the rest of the design elements are up to me.

Now here's the question. The plateaux is very uneven in height around the bowl. Should I level off some of of the plateaux so as I make the bowl more even in height?

Any other suggestions to make before I start sanding this thing?

Don't level off the plateaux. Your bowl is almost too small for the shank proportionally already. Besides it looks fine uneven.

Thanks!

I sent the process pics to the buyer, too, and he also liked it uneven. So I'll definitely leave it as it is.

I finished it up this afternoon, and here are the results:

I would have taken more/better pictures, but my camera battery died in the middle of the photo shoot, and I need to ship the pipe off soon.

As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
