Cherry wood, hand harvested, dried in the microwave. African blackwood bowl with canary wood inlay. This inlay is inset about 1/4" so any movement within the wood from smoking the pipe will not make this inlay pop out. And the rim can be restored many times without worrying about sanding through a thin inlay. Inlays of gold leaf and quartz, and finished with a blue coral shank extension.

I actually don't remember where I got the coral from. I have collected nature things since my childhood, so various objects would come to me through many sources. I've since lost track.
