The rings on the second one are sexy man. I LOVE how thin you cut that. How do you do that might I ask? Do you glue each layer, then face it down, then glue on the next? However you manage it... damn.

"but rev, isn't smoking a sin?"
well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin
"but what would be smoking to excess?"
Why smoking two pipes at once of course

Nice job, of course. The first one has just a little too much going on for my preference, but I like the second quite a bit. I like the style of rustication on them. Nice work.
Re: ND Pipes - two more - just to show
So the saying goes: I'm not generally a fan of rustication, but this rustication is very classy. I really like it. Great work, as usual!

hehehehe - thanks... those thin ones are veneer boards...The Smoking Yeti wrote:The rings on the second one are sexy man. I LOVE how thin you cut that. How do you do that might I ask? Do you glue each layer, then face it down, then glue on the next? However you manage it... damn.
the rings... i cut those thicker ones to the measure and than sand each one of them by hand to be exactly the thickness i want them to be and even on every side... then i glue them all together,.. after this was made and the glue is hard, i drill the 10mm hole for the wooden tenon to hold those piece together better and also to connect them to the shank of the pipe better... then i glue everything together and after the glue is hard, i drill the hole (in that wooden tenon) for the mouthpiece.. (hope it is clear)...
i really have to make a photo essay on that topic...
