Bent Oak

Post by Wallaby »

I finished this one last night. This is my first shape then drill. I don't care for this approach just yet, maybe when I get better. I have some new wood to try this weekend. Maple and Locust.

The profiles aren't bad. However, the photo looking straight on looks like you may want to try to leave more cheek on it next time. As it is, you almost could have left some briar on the bottom and shaped into an acorn sort of style.

I agree. This block was very small, I didn't have much to work with. I actually contemplated not using it at all, but what the heck. I learn a little something on each one.

And that's really the goal - learn something each time. Oh, and have fun. :D
