ok. i went back and shaved more off, im still not sure how to make the shank/bowl transition.

I think if you get that upper part of the transition thinned out you will see exactly what all the guys have been talking about. When you do (and given the mis-drilled block you had to work with), I think you will have a fine first pipe.
