I like the egg/hawkbill. Hawk egg! The grain on that one is beautiful. The oval shank and how it spreads back out at the stem is really cool.

Cool organic shapes as usual Abi. The one thing I see that I would have done different is to place the ring on the Rhodesian higher so that it separates the straight grain and the birdseye. Either that or add a second ring to do the same thing. I'm a fan of your work.

Abi, I feel very inept to critique your work as your style is so different from my own. So, I will just have to echo what Wayne said..."I"m a fan of your work." (very much so.)

Abi, i am new to the pipe making game. The only thing i can say at this point is that i hope my pipes will look half as good as yours. That also goes for most of you guys on here. Your pipes are just mind blowing! i finally got my 1st kit today from Pimo's and i am ready to get to work on it. i have alway's been interested in pipes since the first pipe i ever bought 14 years ago. It was an Erik Nording. But it has taken me till now to finally do something about it. I will post it as soon as im done.

Comrades,
I really appreciate your thoughts on my work! :D

Wayne ,
Thanks man!You are absolutely right about the position of the ring, some straight grain skipped to the upper side.If i place another ring it will downsize the whole cap in such a way that the design will get out of Balance. It should have been from the start an inch higher or two smaller ones.
The overall design of this Rhodesian was thought as an homage to Africa , the safari and a hunter wearing a Zebra skin ribbon around his hat while clenching on this pipe in the Savannah. Image

Best,
Abi

Hi Charl,
thanks comrade ,you got also a shiny one from the PITHT on the way!I send it some 10 days ago ,so i hope it is in a few days at the customs or at your door steps.I declared it as a Gift ,so you know in case Questions arise.
This egg is not as half as shiny as it can get,you just got to play long enough with the right grit and polish it intensely ,its like when a dog licks its ball's - a long, requesting and through job

Best,
Abi
