Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
I put the Cumberland ring on this thinking that it needed something to help balance things out since the bowl is rather large. I got close, but still feel it is a touch bowl heavy.
Length: 6.30"
Height: 1.96"
Width: 1.49"
Chamber: .75" x 1.71"
Weight: 28 grams

Love the ring.

It's got "Barbie syndrome". No way legs that slender can support something so top heavy.

Interesting. Is it because it is so bowl heavy that the ring really doesn't help? Or do you just want to rain on my ring parade?

Re: Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
to me, its the shape of the ring. its a little thick and squared off. For me it would have to be super thin and short to work on a shape like that. I think its one of those "you cant please everyone" type of choices.
Re: Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
Yep it is mainly the chunky look of the ring itself. I probably like the ring if it was more subdued.

Re: Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
This is probably wrong for other technical reasons like the angle of the cant and cutting a wedge off the stummel will show more material on the front and back of the top. but I like the ring suits the long shank and the stem.
edit: Actually never mind. I was flipping between the two and any more than half the angle I took off is probably too severe.
Re: Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
Like this one a lot Scottie . On the fence about the ring though , think maybe little less taper from bowl to bit but you are already on top of it. Can't wait to see another one of your skinny shank creations.
Re: Dublin "Scottie" Pipe
Another good job.
