Hi all, does anyone have a recipe for a bright red color?The red dye That I have(Feibings) dries
Dark almost like an ox blood color. Any thoughts? Thanks

The fiebing ox blood color is magenta almost.

I think this was russet and ox blood if I remember correctly?

My last pipe was a little too red for me and I had to really sand it back to tone it down. I used an orange contrast and a yellow over top. It was definitely brighter red than the oxblood.

WD Lockwood has 45 powdered colors they offer, if you find one you like, let me know, I have them all and can send you some cheap. Check out their website and look under the alcohol based colors. There's tons of reds in every density imaginable

J. E. Mosier's Crimson Red. If it's too red you can tone it down with orange and yellow.
