Very nice looking pipe, rev. The only think that really really sticks out it the transition between the stem and the bamboo. You've got quite a gap going on. Other than that, she looks great.
How do you like working with bamboo? I've been tempted to try myself, but haven't quite bit the bullet yet.
yeah, that was a pain in the ass. I won't be working with bamboo again until I get better at making pipes. The gap isn't as bad as it looks in that picture, but it isn't perfect and I am not happy about that. I imagine you would be fine working with it brother.

"but rev, isn't smoking a sin?"
well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin
Damn son. You're coming a long ways. I agree with the gap between bamboo and stem- I've never worked with bamboo however, so I don't know how you'd go about correcting that.
I think the stem work could do with a bit of work, the flare seems a bit sloppy- if you look at the bottom line, it appears to curve in on itself, which isn't quite what you want. Are you cutting it on a lathe?
thats a really cool shape man, very low profile and sleek. reminds me of something adam davidson would make. nice job rev.
+1 on the stem gap but im sure bamboo is royal bitch to work. on my to try list.

You fix the bamboo issue by spinning it in your headstock on a pin. Use a deadly sharp implement to face the bamboo. It's a bit tricky. You can ruin your mortise if you are not careful (expand it too much). Bamboo is fragile (like you hadn't figured that out).
that was my issue, my chuck wouldn't work with the pins. Because of the shape of the jaws, and them not being reversable using the pin my tool wouldn't fit without getting hit by the jaws. When I get my new jaws it will make everything simpler. Right now I cannot use me lathe at all
