So my ol' dremel has finally bitten the dust, and on Stephen Downie's suggestion, I've ordered this Foredom system! http://www.foredom.net/k5241.aspx
Can't wait for it to arrive!

Dang, dang and double dang! Why didn't I read that thread until after I ordered the wrong tool? Where is that receipt? What heading on this forum do I look under to learn more about this? Is it really that good? It looks pretty darned good...

Re: Just ordered a Foredom!
the foredom is a powerful tool with a greater selection of bits. My problem is that as a paraplegic I can't use the foot speed control. Do you know of a way that it could be converted to be used more like a throttle as opposed to a gas pedal that returns to idle when you let your foot up? If there is a spring that could be removed and a couple bolts tightened up , could it be set on the table top and the speed changed manually by manipulating the pedal with my hand? And have it maintain the set speed.

I'm not sure about an alternative to the foot pedal though, I'll have to look into it Alfa. You might be able to send Foredom a query, my guess is they have setups without the footpedal.
