A little unorthodox

Here is a pipe i made out of 2 blocks of briar that was no good to make a pipe. So i combined both to make a something out of it a little unorthodox but here she is. Again any critique would be welcomed.

If the bottom of the chamber is close enough to the mortise, I'd imagine the heat could loosen it up... at least temporarily.

Everything is perfectly drilled i took my sweet time in doing so. Good thing i always make the shank before i make the bowl. Thanks for the critique means a lot to me.

Interesting idea.

The shank section is all over the place and would look a hell of a lot better if it was either straight or curved not a bit of both. The stem/shank junction needs work, no lips or gaps required, as does the shank bowl join.

When working with clear stems you need to think about the colour of the tennon, the poorly glued black delrin sticks out like a sore thumb try getting some white. If you have a metal starter bit use it to countersink the end of tennons, this looks more professional and helps with the airflow.

As for stick it is not glued and i do have a countersink tool which i should countersink later along the line. To me this pipe is a joke but looks cool and i appreciate all the feedback means a lot to me.

That raises a question for me. Was the block such that you were unable to place the shape within it to avoid those crazy spots?

Yes indeed it was and the block was so short i could not make a bowl out of it or small short 1 inch shank. Maybe i would like to revisit this crazy idea and remake it better.
Now time to post a new pipe.
