asymmetrical tulip
asymmetrical tulip
just finished up another pipe... my first stem inlay, and it turned out okay but has a bit of a gap (and a hairline crack going right up the middle). perhaps i'll wait till i get a lathe before i attempt another inlay. anyhow, critique away.

Re: asymmetrical tulip
Nice. Is it intentionally asymmetrical on the horizontal axis when viewed from above?
Note: just re-read the title of this thread. Even so, I'll leave the stupid question above for everyone to read.
Great work, Sam. Really excellent.

Re: asymmetrical tulip
I like it, but is it more of an egg?
The finish looks very nice.

Re: asymmetrical tulip
Boy, what a great looking pipe. Too bad the tobacco chamber looks soooooo crappy.
Re: asymmetrical tulip
Great looking pipe, Sam. Personally, I think the inlay would look better if it about half as thick, but that is simply my personal preference. Either way, this is a really great looking pipe.

Re: asymmetrical tulip
Now that's a pipe! I love it! Elegant shaping, well defined lines, and a very nice overall composition.
Have any plans to sell this one? I probably couldn't afford it, but it never hurts to ask.

Re: asymmetrical tulip
Well done! Very nice job indeed.
There was only one thing that jumped out - i didn't have to stare at it for this to pop out at me
First thing I saw was : great shape - great lines ...
second thing I saw : WOW that is really a w-i-d-e rim for such a delicate looking shape.

Thanks for this. I tend towards over-eagerness and I'm really glad to see that you've got your head screwed on straight, Sam.e Markle wrote:Good for you!
