Polack Pimp!

Post by baweaverpipes »

Now, don't get me wrong I'm mostly Polish, but I received the following email and found it comical.
I told him I would be pleased to have him promote my pipes, just send $600 and I'll forward a pipe. :bangin:

"Dear Sir,

My name is Daniel, 39 years old. I live in Poland.

Your pipes please me, they are very pretty. I would like to ask, if I could receive one small pipe from you, in souvenir ? I could promote your products (internet, etc.)
I wish all the best.

Greetings from Poland !

Regards,

Daniel

I can't believe you denied my request, Bruce. Meanie.

So that's why pipes don't hang around long on your website and and there's such a buzz around your work.

You call that a small pipe? I don't want to know what you call big pipes then!

Well as my father always said...you don't get what you don't ask for and there's only 1 of 2 things they'll say...yes or no. This is more common these days with blogs and so on. People are giving products away to people who will then go out all over the net and tell tons of people how awesome your stuff is. In this case, I'm sure it wouldn't be worth it and you made the right call...

Is that his full address by the way? :D

Do you happen to have his email too?

I can't count how many of these types of emails i have had. Also plenty of emails from "suppliers" wanting me to stock their items or buy from them. The ones who are wanting to sell me ebonite, acrylic or briar etc I always tell them I would be happy to consider after they send me a free sample of useful size. This usually shuts them but sometimes i get a nice little freebie out of it. Got a lovely piece of swirled ebonite almost 2" in diameter. Use it for shank rings and the such and it's really lovely stuff. I did also get some good samples of their black ebonite and other swirled rods, beautiful colours and the rod had really nice working chracterisitics and was just the right hardness as well. Unfortunately it also had a multitude of little white spots which they couldn't get rid of so no use for stems which was a shame as their prices were excellent as well.
