Bamboo Shanked Bull Moose

Post by taharris »

Well, this is my first foray into bamboo and I have to say that I'm wondering if it is worth all of the work.

Please have a look and let me know what you think. I'll go first... I think the stem is a little too short and the bamboo shank is a little too thin for the bowl. That aside, I'm pretty happy with it for a first try at bamboo.

And the obligatory glamour shot.

Thanks for looking.

overall i like it a lot :)
...
imho - the hump that you have on the top when crossing from the bamboo to the mouthpiece should be a bit softer (line flowing is breaking there) - other than that i like the pipe a lot :) :)
nice work..
best regards

That looks like it would feel real nice in my big monkey hands and has a real nice warmth to it. Nice work.

Very nice! I love the grain on that piece. I've never been a big fan of the bamboo but this is a really good looking and well executed pipe. I say, I'm not a fan but I know that I'll be trying that out in the future. Good job.
