Great improvement there mac. Are you still working with 'pipe kits' or are you engineering them yourself? Needless to say, you're my peer, so constructive criticism would be of little value. How are ya liking your new lathe? what kind of woodturning tools are you using?

The poker's looking pretty good. I think a lot of material can come off the bottom of both churchwardens, both bowl and shank.

No pipe kits. My 1st pipe was my only kit. All the rest are are now done all by me.
I love my wood lathe, its definitely different then a metal lathe. I am just using wood tools from Harbor Freight.
I have to sharpen them allot, but oh well.

Thanks for the compliment on the poker. I agree on the churchwardens, i can take more off.

Thanks. The tobacco chamber is 7/8" and 1 3/4" deep. The bowl is 2 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" wide. the pipe length is 5" long.

Thank you for your comments guys.

I like the shapes on the churchwardens. Are you planning to bend the stems at all?

The poker is an excellent shape. That pipe will serve you well. I would spend some more time defining the shank/bowl transition. The poker shape really lends itself to definition. If you want to see what I'm talking about, take a look at some of Teddy Knusen's work: http://www.teddybriarpipes.dk/master.html, pipe number's 19 and 22 might give you some ideas.
