Truly Hand made

Post by bikedoctor »

I hadn't seen this one posted so forgive me. Sometimes I think I'm limited by my lack of equipment. This really helped.

Yeah, hum, well... I saw this video a while ago. It got me ideas, you know, and before I know, I'm drilling a beautiful, fish-like piece of briar by hand...

Went right thru it. Says something about my three-dimensional perception.

The maker is Michail Revyagin, he is one of Russias' best IMO, here is his site http://www.mrpipes.ru/

Yeah he's a bit more than a hobbyist. He was featured in the last P and T mag, I think.

I love his pipes! Look very organic... like tumours...truffles... potatoes... truly loveable!
Although I think his "on-hand" method is only good for such freehand shapes... He is my today's hero ;)

Ryan,

You may have confused the videos. No doubt Michail Revyagin is a skilled pipe maker. The second video is not his and clearly there is a difference. Agree?

Sorry for the confusion.
