Other than a flame 2 feet high this really burned by ass. what appeard to be a small shallow pit on the back of the bowl.

luckily I hadn't glued the shankstem assembly to the stummel.
Just makes it easyer shaping both the stem and the bowl, DAMN It! I haven't had one of these in a while , just thought I'd vent ! Thanks All!

Jack,
It wasn't even sand, if you look at the top edge there's a bit of the plateaux I left on the rim.
It's was as it was a crease in the wood and the skin was burried inside, I 've seen this only a few times. There was no indication inside the chamber either. Digging some more after my post it went right through. I'm glad I dug around, and didn't just rusticate over it!

Perhaps you could sublet space there. Looks like you could easily set up a studio appartment.
