Got a call from Björn Bengtsson about contrast stain

Björn is the invertor of the contrast stain and Tom Eltang developed it further. Björn gave me a call tuesday morning and gave me the info of the secrets of contrast. Here is some of the pipes i tried it out on.

Very nice work! My staining is still improving but I can do nothing like that! If you are privy to sharing I know I am not the only one to learn a few tips to get stains like that.

Lovely! And now that you have our attention, there's quite a bunch of us holding our breaths, waiting. We're all ears . . . or eyes. Some of us are trying not to drool, too, but that might just be old age creeping up.

smokepiper...on the first couple of pics did you black as the understain and what was the color combo of the last stain....thanks bugsy

The last pipe i stained dark brown alcohol base and second oil dye yellow.
