Age: 51
Location: Independence, MO
Years a pipe smoker: Off and on 35yrs
How you got into pipe making: Started smoking a pipe again and also needed an excuse to get off the couch.
Other interesting facts: I'm an L1 certified Master Automotive Tech with 33yrs under my belt and a lot more above my belt.
I'm in this as a hobby to pass the time and get off the couch, as I stated. I enjoy working with my hands and also enjoy building stuff. I am a cigar smoker as well and when I started getting a small collection going I decided to make my own humidor. I'll try to post a pic of it here. I have a few pipes I've made over the last couple months that I will share in the gallery for your enjoyment and critique.

Welcome Doug,
I perused your pipes in the Gallery and left a few comments.
Very credible efforts for a beginner.
I am a retired guy who also needed something to do after retirement. This can be all consuming.
If you can meet up with a pipe maker in your area, I would recommend it. I have learned a huge amount from this forum, but nothing compares to a shop visit.
