workshop question
Right now I have my workshop in my basement, but I am moving and being forced to use the garage. I live in Ohio where we have cold winters and hot summers. The garage is unattached from the home and not climate controlled. I am wondering what effects if any this will have on my tools, briar, and pip...

Also, Im wondering if there is a blue leather dye or wood dye. I want to make a blue pipe where the grain can still be seen with a white...

J Alan Pics
I was looking at some J Alan Twitter pics and I noticed on his bench he has a drill in a vise with a cork on the drill. Just wondering what that is used for.

I really don't like to critique but that pipe looks too large and heavy.

Re: Rusticating
You could leave a little extra material on the rim of the bowl and the face of the shank, then just plug up the holes. I was thinking of making a larger tumbler maybe like a five gallon bucket so the medium that you use in the tumbler kind of falls on top of the stummel and beats it up good.

Re: ugly ebonite
Mike If someone disagrees with my methods of doing anything in my life, I usually try to prove them wrong. You should take some time and develope your boring bar method, then when you perfect it you can say I told you so. Just do it instead of arguing about it and getting on everyones bad side. If y...

Re: Pipe number 2
I know I messed up the drilling a little bit. I used a forstner bit to drill a pilot hole then I used a ground spade bit for the bottom. What I didn't realize was I had taken too much off of the spade bit while sharpening it and it didn't get rid of the remainder of the hole. So, at the bottom of th...
