good work
I think it´s beautiful pipe, a bit to say about the stem-bite need more materials to keep the pipe hanging from the jaw, as it is now you need to break a couple of teeth for keeping it hanging. Very nice work!!!

Thanks heinz
Thought i could make the point by posting the bulldog, i´m not in for critics towards your pipes just simply correcting the small misstakes we all do. Good that you understod my point. Looking at my last pipe and now at your's I think I know what you mean! The shape (your's) is very cool and the ste...

i guess you all ain´t so grumpy as my mentor Bengt Carlson
The first thing he said was that the cumberland didn´t fit the smooth finish, otherwice the pipe was really nice and it was similar to one of Bo´s shapes. Bo made them more tight in shape and had a more forward slant to the head. Ilike the pipe myself but knowing the facts of what´s correct to combi...

multicolored stems is for bamboo or sandblasts the grain is unfocused when there is more than the briar that is colored.

this is a bulldog with a green/black cumberland stem and
This is what i meant about using cumberland to smooth pipes it makes a effect unfocused of the pipes grain, the dog is quite nice if it weren´t for the cumberland. http://www.pipemakersforum.com/albums/contraststain/bulldog_001.sized.jpg http://www.pipemakersforum.com/albums/contraststain/bulldog3.s...

Is it Greec briar you use? The odds for getting problems along the road is higher with greec briar but if you get a type A block the greec is VERY beautiful briar. I have used about 400 blocks from greece and 350 or more of those have had some issues that needed rusticating or blasting. Perhaps it´s...

I visited Sören Refbjerg last Friday
Sören closed down his factory and he picked me up at the centralstation, we were to make pipes together this afternoon just the 2 of us. Sören has 40 years of experiense in pipemaking and he makes 12 pipes/day. To see him work is to study mozart, he tought me some things about shaping on a sanddisc ...

I think your boat feeling comes from the high bottom line, if it were lower the feeling of mountain is more clear. I can almost bet on that the upper shape is made in a lathe and the jaws made it impossible to go further down, am i right? Heinz. Otherwice the shape it self is OK, the finish really g...

I use a red alcohol stain, but i brush the wood first to whipe the dust out of the grain and heat it with hot airgun. When i stained the red i waite till it dryed a bit brush again to work the stain into the grain. Heat the wood again and use either black oil dye or leatherstain, several rounds and ...

i´m getting there
I blasted a poker today and the details came out really good but the kraggy parts isn´t the easiest thing to do. I think the best way is to make a quick blast first so the ringgrain appears then fill the ringgrain with a dental drill bit then blast again. That is what i think and i am trying this ne...

Super glue, i have tried a number of those with no good results. Delrin is to greasy in it self so glue doesn´t get the grip.

What´s CA glue? i use araldite from the SAAB Faichild space-center it´s epoxy that is used in air planes. 24 hours before harden and if you heat the epoxy 6 hours after application you make it even stronger. But i need to make grooves and you don´t with CA glue so you made me curious...
