Richmond Show Report

Post by baweaverpipes »

It was fun.
I enjoyed my friends.
I ate well.........Mama J's was great!
I sold all my pipes.
Premel was nice to me.
Huber had some nice pieces.
Decent crowd, but Sunday was mostly all of us walking around and telling lies.
It's a shame that this was their last show...........30 years..........some of you, on this board, weren't even born when it started!
The nine hour drive home was hell, it rained for eight hours of the trip.
No photos, just this highly detailed report :D

It was a really social show. Traffic seemed pretty good on Saturday but by Sunday it was mostly just the exhibitors. That wound up being ok because we all got to spend a lot of time lying to each other.

I did get voted King of the Forum, though. You may all bow before me.

Yes, I get slower everyday.A lot of me is metal Bruce, a lot of the guys I knew are gone. Now with all the pissing contests going on in pipe carving I'm lucky to be rust proof. Lol.It's good to see some of the new ones coming up.Glad you sold everything! Now buy some great stocks. You are a wealthy Man. I will get to see you eventually. John.

Oh, please. :P

I'm only kidding. I'm no better than anybody else here. Bruce teased me at the show and I'm just poking him back.

It seriously was a great show. It was a lot of fun getting to see friends and mentors and to meet some new folks.

Thanks for the compliment, Bruce! You are too kind!

I was glad I was able to make it to this show. The only other one I've been to is the one at Premal's in March.

Thanks to David and Premal for taking the time to talk with me about my newest pipes. It was great to see other makers' pipes in person and realize the amount of detail in them. It really humbled me to see how far I have to go but also inspired me to work on getting there.

I even got to meet Bruce briefly. He's really not so much of a curmudgeon.

So did anyone else see the guy with the gold glitter covered Dunhill?
