Question about a pipe.

Hey guys.
Yesterday I posted a tread in the "General" section of the forum where I talk about some old pipe repair boxes I was given yesterday.
One of those boxes contained an old pipe and I don't know who made it, so I thought that I'd post it here to maybe get some information from more knowledgeable guys than me.
The stamp on the briar says "CAR" inside an oval, and under that stamp the number "585" is stamped. The metal ring is also stamped "CAR" and then there is a "T" followed by a dragon or an eagle and then there is a symbol I can't quite make out. Under those stamps the letters "AE" is stamped in.
The pipe itself is a system pipe with the long reservoar in the shank, so I thought "Hmm, maybe Peterson" but I don't know.
On the front of the bowl there's an engraving or a large stamp that says "C.H.L 1938" but my dad think it's an engraving made by the owner of the pipe, but I don't know that either.
Anyway, if anybody knows anything, let me know!
