Really like the shape and finish of the pipe. It is quite handsome. Was the rim carved and then stained black because of a flaw or just for aesthetic reasons?

^I have the same thougt about the rim. I think it will be a bit difficult to clean properly.
Other than that - great looking pipe!

Way to follow the grain, too. I really like the look of it all around.

That's a really good looking pipe. That being said there are some minor improvements that would make this pipe great. The shank cap is a bit too thick and proud. The stem is a touch under-bent. The stem would look better if it blended smoothly into the taper instead of having the step on the top and bottom. It looks cool from the top but in the profile shot my eye keeps getting drawn to the step. Very nice work overall.

IAWW, but there's something else about it that feels... over complicated. Like there are a bunch of elements that don't go together in the same piece. The pipe feels confused to me, but that's me.

Agree with Wayne The Main Man. Not terribly crazy about the top.

Sadly there was a nasty flaw on the rim yes...

Good points for sure.
