Vermont Freehand pics
Well, some have you have been asking about pics of inventory, so here ya go! (plus some more pics of the property)
This first pic is the wall of brair, about 5,000 blocks. There's another 3,000 kicking around elsewhere, between the second pic and upstairs.
The picture below is 2500 blocks waiting to get boxed and put onto a pallet.
The picture below is hundreds of different premolded vulcanite stems, along with stain, and a bunch of small boxes of a little of everything (horn, arbors, sanding pads, drill bits, wax, paper, labels, tape, tooling, etc.) More of each is downstairs in bigger boxes. Then there is some guitars, mandolins, and fiddles on the top shelf.
Below is the every growing ebonite rack.
Here's a pic of the shop, always 12 things going on at once.
Then there are a bunch of rows of shelving for all the larger boxes of shipping supplies and back up inventory of all the items.
Theres too much shelving to show you a bunch of boxes on a shelf, but heres a couple to give you the point.
Here's a good arial shot of the estate I live at and caretake for, my building is on the right.
Cool small streams run through the property. We have spring fed water out of the mountain behind us, so since it's gravity fed, we have plenty of water when the power goes out (as opposed to a well with an electric pump)
gardens, gardens, and more gardens, too many to picture.
The picture below is the view out of the bedroom window when I sit up out of bed. The shop that is below the bedroom has the same view out the windows

Well, I for one am impressed. Do you have anyone helping you or are you a one-man-band?
Beautiful estate.
Set up a mini hydo-electric rig in that stream and tell the power company to kiss your posterior.

Re: Vermont Freehand pics
I do most all the work myself (briar stuff), with the ocassional help from my girlfriend (shes in charge of the garden stuff, though we help eachother a lot). I am planning on hiring an employee very soon to take over pipe kits, sanding, sorting, boxing, basically all the shop stuff. Now if I could get my old man to come do the paperwork and shipping end, I'd be left to take care of communications and maybe carve a pipe for once. It's a matter of time before I can fine tune it even more. Dream big!!
Re: Vermont Freehand pics
Steve, it looks a lot different than the last time I was there. Great work. I am always so psyched to see all that wood

Being your employee sounds like it would be a lot of fun. And I love your lathe turret. Thanks for your service to the community.

Make some room and pull out a cot. I'm moving in!
Looks simply amazing, Steve. You, sir, are a man among men. At least to those of us making pipes.
I wanna see a picture of that big rock you've never taken a picture of.

Very nice Steve! You know, since you live on an estate, and you deal with pipes, maybe you should have called the business Estate Pipes. Oh wait...

Steve, the turret setup on your lathe makes me drool.
Re: Vermont Freehand pics
Also important to remember Steve gives a free bucket of Ridley kitty with each purchase when he's not making crop circles

So this is where my kits came from! This estate doesn't need a parson, by chance, does it?

Your product ends up in a much uglier place. Nice property...I really dig the gardens too!
