What Pin Gage Set to Get?

What pin gage set would you guys recommend that I get?
I am looking at this one:

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've seen these mentioned several times here, what are you guys using these for?
Edit: I know they're for taking measurements, but where in the pipe making process would you want to use these?

That's the size you want, but I wouldn't pay that much. If you can find the deal Scottie mentions above, that's the best price I know of. I just checked eBay, and the set I bought there is still sold at $85 shipped:

I don't know of a reason to buy any one set over another for what we use these for.

Actually, we don't use them for measuring.
We use them as jam chucks to mount a stemmel on the lathe.
You find a pin gage that fits the mortise snugly and mount it in a 3 or 4 jaw chuck.
This is useful for doing stem work after the bowl is formed.

It's gotta be your avatar talking (or Walter Brennan).
If you're gonna spin a "stemmel" on a gauge pin make sure you lathe is either a heavy one or weighted or bolted down 'cuz the workpiece is way out of balance and things can start shakin', rattlin' and rollin'.

I just made my own pin gauge from a piece of steel once to make a shank-end cap, worked fine, although it was a bit scary spinning the stummel on the taig, but it worked!

Choose a suitable speed as well, certain speeds with an out of balance stummel will cause a resonance that only gets worse, change the speed by sometimes just a few RPM and it goes away. Slower is usually the key, I have turned stummels really slow before, it can be done though if your movements on the tools are similarly slowed down.
