2014 Pipe In The Hat Trade.

Post by scotties22 »

Dear Mr. Yeti,

When are planning on getting this up and running?

You boys ready to throw down? Say a completion date of April 30th? That's far enough out that everyone should have time to get theirs finished and still have over two months before the GKCPC contest.

edit #1: Poll question added.

edit #2: shape/deadline info

Shape: Prince (straight stummell, a bend in the stem is okay)
Deadline: April 30th, 2014
...................this is a firm date

edit #3: The list

Hmmmmm. Well I can't wait to the last minute for sure if it's before Chicago. I think we should go with something really concrete to aid with critique. I'll head it up. Spit out some ideas folks.

There you go. The 2014 PITH theme can be GKCPC Contest rejects. We can submit the pipes that we made for the contest but chose not to submit because they sucked. I might have a pipe I could enter this year. :D

Pfft! You won't have a pipe this year. It's your year to shine!

Maybe billiards would be over the top. Should we come up with something different so we don't have to do the same pipe for two different contests?

I think a prince would be great. We could make it a requirement that the stem has to be twice the length of the stummel.

I like the ides of billiard or prince or churchwarden. Should we open a poll thingy after we get a handful of options?

What have the last few PITHs been? I know the last one was a long shank fruit/vegetable. What were the ones before that?

The year before that was a Rhodesian and before that was a Wallenstein inspired pipe.

with the big discussions lately on danish style vs english styles maybe we should focus on something that would fit into that category? Dublins?

We did two this year. The first was a cavalier and the second was the long shanked fruit. I wasn't around for the ones before that.

I vote either billiard or churchwarden. I've never made a billiard, and my churchwarden stems could use some more practice. Or we could combine both and do a Bing!
