denatured Alcohol
denatured Alcohol
when speaking of denatured alcohol would this be the same as using say everclear ?
Re: denatured Alcohol
Nope - denatured alcohol contains chemicals to make it undrinkable, it's only to be used as solvent, cleaner etc. Usually smells badly ...
Everclear contains nothing but alcohol & water, and can be used for beverages.
There's nothing wrong about using denatured alcohol for mixing stains, for example.
I wouldn't exactly use it for inside cleaning of estate pipes - it might possibly leave a bad smell, or taste. Not sure about that ...

Re: denatured Alcohol
thanks fellas, I didn't want to clean my pipes and or drink denatured, I was just wondering if you could use everclear as a solvent in place of denatured
Re: denatured Alcohol
Yes. You can get cheapo everclear from the liquor store too. I've got a bottle that's almost two years old and over half full. I've been using it exclusively for pipe related tasks. I think it only cost me $7.BigCasino wrote:thanks fellas, I didn't want to clean my pipes and or drink denatured, I was just wondering if you could use everclear as a solvent in place of denatured
