I shot this with extra fine media and played with different pressures. This took surpriseingly more time than I thought.
The grit of the media says 175-325. Is this the grit range? I thought that media was grit specific? I may need to step up to a medium grit to get the initial cut any thoughts? thanx

That's the standard grit size.

What pressure are you running, Bob? Nozzle size etc?

BTW that's ten times better than my first.

I can see rings and lines... yup, you blasted a pipe. Without knowing your setup, I'd say to turn up the pressure and take some more time. Start back a ways to bring up the ring pattern and then move in slowly. Looks pretty even, so keep that up. You can practice on scraps, but you really don't get the full range of experience unless you blast a whole pipe.

I started at 90 psi grew old and turned it up to 110 psi. The reason In asking is I hear you all talking about blasting a pipe in ten min.( Iknow a good blast will take much longer) I was thinking of the initial start blast more psi? what you all think ? Thanx Bob

Are you using a large gun? What's your CFM at 90psi?

Once Rad started blasting a pipe at 2:34 pm and finishes at 2:32 pm two minutes before he started. He is really really really good.

I've never timed it, but I would guess 30-45 minutes?

Rad ,it's the gun that come with the bench top cyclone cabinet I think it is 5cfm@ 90 psi the compressor is rated at 17.5cfm 90psi
the tip is 3/16 dia.

A KC club guy has a friend who owns some sort of industrial equipment recovery & restoration business, and amongst the goodies is a massive sandblast setup that's something like 2000 cfm at 300 psi.

He said the damn thing recoils like an anti-tank gun when opened up, but is tons of fun. Went through a bit of briar to get things sorted at first, but now takes less than a minute to do a stummel.

Bob,

5 CFM is way low to be blasting briar. This will take you forever to blast a pipe. 14-15 CFM @ 90psi is closer to what you want.

My gun tip is about 1/4".
