spare 5/8" piece of steel rod?
spare 5/8" piece of steel rod?
Sounds crazy I know, but I'm looking for a 4-6" long piece of 5/8" stainless rod to use as a tool rest on my QCTP. I'd rather not buy a long piece and have at it with a hacksaw until my arm falls off - and I have no use for metal stock other than this application. Happy to buy, trade tobacco, etc.

I don't have Any 5/8" rod, but if you have some time you could go to the hardware store and pick up a 5/8" grade 2 hex bolt that is 8" long for a few dollars. Chuck the bolt in your metal lathe, cut the hex head and threads off and you have your post. Zinc plated even. It would probably be less than shipping charges.
Edit: did t catch the stainless requirement. That will be a little harder to find, but not impossible.

It wouldn't cost much to order from onlinemetals.com either.
