I read that you shouldn't inhale pipe smoke...what would be the point of smoking it.

Do you ever drink without getting drunk? :)

Yes, but I never got it into my mouth and then spit it out. If you don't inhale how do you know the Tobacco is any good.

I honestly can't tell if your joking...

IMO, you tell if the tobacco is any good by taste (your tongue).

Not really, I mean at my age having been smoking cig's for 35 years then switching to pipes, why worry. The damage is done if any. By the way had a checkup last week No Big C anywhere.

True but you only get on the way in. You have to inhale to get it "both way's"
Not talking about switching hitting there. LOL

Being a cigarette smoker also I inhale.
Mostly so that I can go a longer time between cigarettes which I'm trying to give up for pure tobacco.

I read an interesting report on the Gatlin-Burlier website
http://www.gatlinburlier.com/index.cgi? ... duknow.htm
showing reports that a pipe smoker has no more chance of cancer then a non-smoker?
The report goes on to say..
"Pipe Smokers who inhale live just as long as nonsmokers. Pipe smokers who don't inhale live longer than nonsmokers." (Death rate 20% less than for nonsmokers)"
SURGEON GENERALS REPORT
Public Health Service, Publication No. 1103, Page No. 92

Anyway you look at it, when I smoke a pipe I'm satisfied for much longer then smoking a cigarette. Plus cigarettes just don't hold a candle to the fullness and taste of pure leaf tobacco!

Call me silly but I inhale too. I originally started on the briar to get off cigarettes. I still went through the weight gain, but haven't even considered going back to cigs. I inhale much less per bowl than I would from one cig, and the bowl lasts a lot longer! I thought I was the only one who inhaled. Glad to hear it's not true. Speaking of, it's almost break time! :D

I inhale sometimes but not all the time, it depends on my mood
The pipe is the meaning of life
