I was smoking some ODF and realized it was like poking a bear with a stick, it's fun but man it can give you a wallop, so I thought I needed a smaller bowl for it, so I figured I try and make one I used a 5/8 chamber about 1 1/4 deep and one flake fill the bowl just below the top
I didn't lock down my vise when I drilled the chamber and my whole vise moved forward so the chamber ended up a bit off center and if you notice the draft hole goes through the bottom in it put a ding in the outter wall of the chamber
I was planning on partially rusticating this one, but there were no defects in the briar so I wanted to see how the grain turned out, I think I should have still rusticated it, the Grain doesnt look very interesting,
any tips or critiques I'd love to hear.
Thanks for looking

You've got the right idea. Now you need to tighten up your shaping. On this particular pipe a lot can be taken off the bottom of the bowl and shank and you could also take off a smaller amount off the top of the shank.
I know without a lathe the top of the bowl can be difficult, so find yourself some round stencils and start using them as a guide for the top of the bowl and the widest portion of the bowl.
For number 3 this is looking great. Now go make another!

Yeah for sure man, I use a compass SO MUCH to make sure my shape is dialed in. Don't feel too bad about the airway either... you shoulda seen how many shop pipes I made when I was learning shape-then drill technique. Ever single one was waaaay off center or through to the other side. What's important is that you learn. Keep at it man!!
