Having bought a bunch of Pegleg's plateaux when he folded his tent I'm in good shape.
However, I missed out on all but a couple of pieces of his ebauchons so I'd be very interested when (if) you get a batch in.
If you can, make a note to yourself to PM me in case I miss your notice.

I just got a bunch of PegLeg briar too, but the briar from Yazid has been my favorite to work with and smoke from, so I bought a bunch. :D

Here's a photo of three blocks picked at random. I ordered the mini blocks. Sorry for the fuzzy photo. :P

I'm in the market right now for some medium sized plateaux, and would like opinions of Yazid's Algerian vs Mimmo's usual stock (Spanish??). It appears Mimmo's is actually a little cheaper when you consider the shipping is included. Of course, I don't want to pinch a few bucks if Yazid's is clearly superior. I was thinking about ordering a box of 10 from Mimmo until I saw this post. (I don't have blasting equipment, so that's not a factor in the type...)
I've been idle for a good while, and don't want to start back with mediocre stuff, so any advice will be appreciated
Thanks.

I'm working on this right now which is the bottom block in the photo two posts up. I haven't worked with a lot of Mimmmo briar, but what I have worked with has been very clean. I've gotten a few incredibly grained smooths out of Yazid's briar and a few nice blasts. In my limited experience, Yazid's briar has more dramatic graining vs Mimmos which has more elegant graining. Mimmo's wood smokes very neutrally while Yazid's adds a rich sweetness to the first couple of bowls that I love. I'm a fan of Yazid's briar, personally.

Here's the photo I mentioned in the first sentence. It'll probably be a blast, as there are some small flaws on the other side, but the chamber is flawless and beautiful.

I don't think they would fit next to my carboard boxes that are ductaped (yeas, thats a word) on my wall (BTW, they are painted camo, it would clash)

PS - tell your painter to smooth out those walls

I am really wanting some of these... but you don't like lathes... :)

I am saving up some money... Just spent $300 on Spanish briar... Hopefully I can get some profit and buy some more of these. I loved them.

I'm going to pick up the batch of briar in a couple days.

For those who have reserved blocks, I have sent pm's.

If there is anyone I missed, pm me.

And haha, no bartering kids, kidneys, or artwork.
I am always willing to barter for musical instruments, chainsaws, guns, and ammo, I guess gold and silver too.

Chas, yes, there are ebauchons ready to ship, check the above list

Gershom, the chainsaws do not have to run if they are Stihl or Husky, but keep in mind, shipping is pricey, better to barter in person
