Brandy pipe that I did on Saturday (not finished)

Tyler gave me some input and I will be fixing a few things. I think the biggest problem is my shank bowl transition, but I am going to fix that, and a lump or two. Overall I am pretty happy with how this pipe is going, I get to do one more "traditional" design out of the five I am now doing, and then I think I will alternate between the more traditional and the out there. That way I can learn from the pros here and still make sculptures that make me happy.

ultimately I want to be the best pipe maker the world has ever known... or at least better than Sasquatch :)

well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin

"but what would be smoking to excess?"

Why smoking two pipes at once of course

Oh and feel free to blast the shit out of it. I want to get better, every pipe I want to be a little better.

I am planning to just have a very plain stem on this, just a soft taper all the way to the end. But any suggestions would be welcome.

I am also not going to rusticate this even though there are some flaws in the front of the bowl, mainly because the guy I am making this for would actually like the "imperfect" nature of the wood being part of his pipe. I am going to do a dark high contrast stain.

Looking pretty good so far - bowl isn't droopy or overly fat.

Being better at making pipes than Sasquatch doesn't take much. But taking pictures as poorly as Sasquatch and STILL selling pipes.... this is the magic zone.

I can't tell you anything more about your pipe until the stem is more stem-shaped. Right now it's just a big cylinder, and doesn't look like it would be too comfy in the teeth.

Lets be honest... Sas can fit MUCH larger things into his mouth, he just doesn't like to admit it in public.

did a bit more work on the transition yesterday. Am thinking I will finish sand it today, and finish the stem, as well as carve another freestyle pipe to be ready for a day of staining, sanding and polishing on Saturday.
