Messes! Er, I mean, Firewood!
Messes! Er, I mean, Firewood!
The new Stihl ms271 and some of its victims.
The old reliable, MS290 from 8 or 9 years ago finally died mid cut last week. Burnt to a crisp. I guess it ran a little lean or something.... scored it to crap. Anyhow, it owed me nothing.
Also got a Poulan 5020 to use for demolition and construction - it's utterly replaceable if I burn it up or run it over. Good saw for the money, absolutely.

Mr. Squatch,
This category is titled "Other Things We Make", not "Things We Cut Up With A Chain Saw To Burn".
Hope this helps.

I was expecting to find failed pipe stummels... not a new chainsaw.

It must be getting colder out, both an axe and a chainsaw have been posted! I'm old and lazy so I'm gonna post a pic of my thermostat
Re: Messes! Er, I mean, Firewood!
I expect to see your next pipe carved with that chainsaw. That goes for all of you.

Splitting a 14" chunk of pine with 10 different branches in it is next to impossible. You get weird ugly chunks of wood. So I just rip the big ones up with the saw and then I have something splittable. Takes about 20 seconds with the RS chain on there.

The old 290 is junk. It's fried, and I am not going to keep it for parts, cuz I'm not handy that way.

Steve's chainsaw make mine look downright puny - a 20 year old Husky 61.

After JM's planer accident, they don't let him use chainsaws with chains on them anymore.JMG wrote:MS271....Pssh! MS311.
