Found Time!

Post by stdly »

I have been reading (following the wars) but not contributing and for that I apologize. I have been working 55-60 hours a week for the last 2 and a half months but finally found time to finish 1 of 4 pipes on the bench.
Let me have it either way!

Steve, what do you do to finish your pipes?? All of your pipes that I've seen seem to have some sort of different finish... Almost like they were wet when photographed...

bscofield,
They are not wet and I am in the testing stages of finishing so I will not say. The Squashed Tomato was re-photographed yesterday with the new stem after 6 weeks or so of good smoking and a quick wipe with a dry cloth. So I am very happy with the finish so far.

Now that's more like it, a good mystery. Let the games begin. What is/has Steve got going with his "finish"

I'm not trying to say anything negative... I'm just curious. If I'm the only that noticed it then no biggie. It was just something that caught my eye...

Did the wood really darken or was this just a lighting thing??

Nice pipe big guy!

I like the shape. Kinda has elements of an elephant's foot. Very nice.

I wonder why that shape is called elephant's foot anyway?

I hear that steve uses guaccamoli and clam juice to shine his pipes.
