Chucks?

Post by JMG »

We have an old Shopsmith here and I was wondering if anybody had any 2 or 4 jawed chucks that worked with a Shopsmith that they were wanting to sell? Can't promise I can buy them, the price would have to be right for me, but I thought I'd put the word out. Thanks guys.

Best deals are probably used chucks, but I have one I'm using that came from Grizzly tools and while it's not the best, I couldn't beat the price.

The spindle thread size would be needed too figure out if what someone has will fit.

Ok, says it's 5/8" but doesn't say the thread. Penn State sells an adapter to change the thread to 1"x8" which is a pretty common size. Would make it easier to find a used chuck to fit.
