More eBay briar

Samantha0296 is listing lots of blocks and boasts about a huge variety of pipey stuff for sale.

I ordered a half dozen big ones on a "buy it now" sorta thing, and a) I got 'em about 2 hours later and b) they look really really good.

Seems to be related to Molina pipes, don't know if the mill and the manufacturer are related or if this is just stockpiled stuff. But the prices for small amounts are pretty reasonable and shipping is Fed-ex/UPS so you get the stuff pretty fast.

glad to hear she has quality stuff. I'd been considering ordering a few from her. I'll have to give here a try. Thanks Sas :)

I've ordered two batches from her. It seems like pretty good stuff so far. Her plateau briar ain't bad either. Once I get some nicer pipes made outta the stuff I'll try to post a pic.

How'd you get 'em 2 hours later? The auctions say the item location's in Italy.

Remember, Todd's in Canada; their postal system is cheap, efficient, and lightning fast. Second only to Italy's.

Bigfoot gets what Bigfoot wants. Simple as that... they're just lucky he didn't ask for it in ONE hour!

It was more than 2 hours - I will admit to a slight exaggeration here. But I think I ordered them on the weekend and got 'em this week. That's pretty good.

I got both of my shipments in about a week and a couple days. Not bad for Italy.

I'll keep you posted as I make some pipes, but just looking at the blocks I got, I am pretty confident.

I just got the stuff in today. That was fast, considering it shipped Monday or Tuesday. The wood is better looking in person than in the photos. Fantastic stuff. Definitely will be buying more if this works out.

Just ordered 24 Ebauchons from http://myworld.ebay.com/samantha0296/&_ ... 1497.l2754. My first semi bulk order of briar. Will let you know when I get into them. At about $6 a block, not a bad deal if they are descent.

Whenever you fellas start creating some pipes out of Samantha's briar, please post some photos. I'd love to see what you guys find in those blocks! :)

Top pipe in this pic was the worst looking block in my batch of six. It was the only block that had visible pits/flaws. Now, that doesn't mean that the others won't when I cut 'em, but pretty often, what you see on the outside carries through on the inside.

Well, God knows it's easy to take a batch of blocks, cut one pipe, and deem it a "good batch" only to find the next 9/10 are crap inside. But I don't think so here. I cut another down, re-orienting it for grain, and it's just wonderful. Now I have a gigantic 5" long straight grain ebauchon.

I don't think I'm the only one who is excited to see what comes out of that! ;)
