Saucer finished today

Post by jogilli »

Good day all... Today was a good pipe making day, below is a saucer that I have been finishing up the past couple of days.. comments and critiques are welcome.. and yes I used bocote again.. this time though I stayed away from the green/black swirl mouthpice and lined up the bocote grain w/the briars grain.

Today was a good pipe day.. got several hours in the shop and messed around with freehand drilling... don't have it down yet.. but will soon enough.. Luckily I have about 8 more blocks that were dried too quickly and have fissures all over and through them.. as agrivating as it is since they cant be used to make a pipe.. they can be used... instead of some good wood to practice freehand drilling

enjoy your weekends

I like it and I like the grain contrast and colors, nice. What's the extension ring made from?
Cheers Rolf.
