Hi Folks,
here is a new shape were i went a little bit further in to the three dimensional exploration of the tomato shape. It is a frozen moment in time , a movement that is caught in Bruyere.

WOW! That is an absolutely stunning pipe!

Not only is the shape so very beautiful, it also follows the grain exceptionally well. Time and time again you surprise me with your pipes Abi!

I'm usually not a big fan of fancy coloured stems, but this one matches the pipe perfectly.

Now that's a cool variation!

What is your method of carving / sanding the inside of the suspended portion of the pipe. I've tried something like this before and getting in there and maintaining a smooth surface gives me fits.

That's an absolutely brilliant pipe.

I still have issues with your stems, specifically the bit -- I think you can get wild with the overall shape (and your designs are not only original, but beautiful), but the bit is the "user interface" of a pipe. How it feels is important, and so does how it looks. Your bits are too strange to me, and probably to most pipe smokers. My advice here is keep that part of the pipe as traditional as possible; the rest can be your playground.

Still... this pipe is stunning! Congratulations!

Wow! Beautifully done!
And how do you do the carving and sanding of those difficult to reach places?

Hey guys,
thanks,i appreciate your thoughts on this!

Brandon,Charl,i polish the suspended portion with a Dremel and different small polishing wheels .

Leus my comrade,of course i understand a different point of view on this matter that is called the 'Bit' and there is of course always some home grown prejudice that reveals through different experiences and gets stronger with the mainstream.I like to keep my mind open to something a 'bit' different in appearance but as comfortable as any other 'bit' in this pipe universe.I do not easily draw here some reviews on some of my sold pipes(and there are quiet a few)but when you indirectly suggest something i fell drawn to answer it as short but to the point.
Just too underline, i am posting this because of the 'bit' matter and not to make a commercial

Mr.Rainer a Gentleman from Munich in Germany has been a pipe collector and smoker since 1971 and he bought this olive wood tomato with the most voluptuous bit i ever made and right after he fell for the Dublin in bruyere. He enjoyed the sculptural 'bit' on the tomato with every bit of the smoking experience and the same with the 4 mm bit on the Dublin. He liked it so much that he shared a few reviews on different forums and in pipe smoker-clubs. ; http://www.pfeife-tabak.de/phpBB2/viewt ... 4dfad22bf7 .

This pipe http://www.tobaccotaste.com/index.php?topic=631.0 was an order for a discerning collector of Freehand pipes who was really underlining in his requests that it is of great importance to have a very fine ,thin and comfortable bit! Here is the review( you have to be loged in) http://pfeife-und-lebensart.de/viewtopi ... =17&t=1739 .

I also have my pipes in some pipe-shops and had so far not a single objection about my bits from unsatisfied customers.
I could now go on and on this way and still it may not answer your objection until you bite a 'bit' on my pipe !

I will sure keep my sculptural bits in circulation,it is a practical vision of mine that fits every premolar tooth :D
As they say ;The wolf may change his skin, but not his nature.

Must have been a booger not to buff off some of those edges. Nice work, Abi.

Gonna break my rule of not posting "Nice pipe" all the time because it must be said:

That is a great pipe!

Thanks :)

The more I look at this pipe the more I am thinking that it should be in a museum somewhere. Amazing work...
