Is this a good deal?

Post by LarryG »

New to this forum. I have been shaping on a sanding arbor hooked up to a drill in a vice.

I wanted to know if this is a good deal for a lathe:

Thanks all.

Well, that lathe isn't worth $350, that's for sure. If, after close inspection, I could determine that it was in working order and had a sane spindle thread size, I'd make an offer of $150 or so. Since I'm all tooled up for wood lathe work, and don't have to buy anything additional (well, maybe a chuck), I might go as high as $225 since it has a nice workbench as part of the package, but that lathe would have to be in really nice condition.

You can get a Jet Mini lathe for nearly the same money.

I don't think that lathe is even worth a call back.
