Steady Rest for old lathe

Post by TRS »

Just curious if anyone can help on this: I've emailed the company but haven't got a reply just yet. I'm having a really hard time locating a steady rest for my old (1930's or so) Craftsman 9" lathe. Does anyone know if this type of deally might work?

I was looking into a Rand so-called 'universal' steady rest, but the specs they gave had the center point a good inch or more above my lathe's.....
