Thanks Kurt! I took your advice and it helped a bunch. There is still a slight gap but you can only see it if you hold it up to a light, and even then it's small. There are still plenty of things I need to improve on...but this pipe is definitely a step up from the others I've made. The stem isn't perfect but it is hand cut and works so much better than a premold would have.

I'm looking forward to the next PITH already. Thanks for organizing it.

As my first post on this forum I would like to say thank you for allow me to join this great group of pipemakers. The pipes I have seen posted here are inspiring.

Here is my humble submission, enjoy.

wow, nice piece.

and nick, i find your pipe somehow pervert, i´ve been watching it nearly daily after you put the pics here,
as i want to see if there are any comments of the one i made. it is a nice pipe, and id be glad to get it to myself, but it still
gives somehow a pervert image to me. maybe its the color :D don´t get it wrong.

edmond, i´ve gotten the same results with contrast staining and don´t really know what it is about,
but anyway, it is a character of the piece of briar so it shouldt been taken as a flaw... imo.
im looking at a mastro de paja pipe now, that has the same "effect" on.

yup,
cant wait the list to show up tomorrow!

Alright, here's mine, just under the wire. It's my third pipe, and loaded with flaws, so apologies in advance to who gets it. It should smoke well though.

Just an update... I've decided to pack mine in a wooden box.
It's a simple one, but handmade :D

Although it is very cool, I now feel worse about my pipe.

Here is my entry. I'm pleased with it as a noobie, but, it pales in comparison to everything else that has been posted. OH well, should smoke well...

circularthoughts, the chin could be brought in a little more but but give yourself some credit, it's a nice looking pipe. I'd smoke it :D

Drawing should commence shortly - waiting for the kids to get home from school. I'll post it here as soon as I have it.

He's having the drawing verified by the DavisJohnson accounting house. Those guys are from the south though, so it takes them a while to count up all the submissions and sort them properly (they keep running out of fingers and losing count).
