New one from Austria

Post by Mitch »

Hi, guys!

I´m reading this forum for quite a while and finally I had the courage to register. Thanks to Kurt for activating my account so quickly.
My name is Michael.
I´m 27 years old and from Graz, Austria. I´m studying psychology.
So far i´ve build 4 pipes.

This was the first pipe i´ve ever build. I made it out of a pre drilled hobby block. Due to this fact the shaping process was a bit frustrating. I also had to make a shankextension, because i had a slight accident with the discsander.

This was the first pipe i´ve drilled myself and made the mouthpice out of a rod.

My first go on rustification and my second completely selfbuild pipe.

My latest work. Just shellack and wax. No stain. In real life the tone is a bit lighter, but i´m not very good in this photoshootingthing.

At the moment i´m building my own workshop, but at first I have to get rid of 30 years of chunk.

Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome!

Finally I have to apologize for my poor english (which is very embarrasing, because my fiancee is an english girl )

Greetings
Michael

I guess not bad as for start. Read forum, contact pipemakers (if available) and your skills will grow up.

Welcome Michael, I'm sure you will enjoy it here. Very nice beginnerpipes you got there. Just need to go a lot thinner on the stems  .
Now get rid of all that junk and get to work!

I forgot to mention, that the pipes are build for 9mm filters.

And thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi Michael, some decent looking pipes considering your experience. Certainly better than my first 4 or 40 for that matter.

Just one question though? How did you get such an early start junk collecting?

CKR, there is a theory that junk is auto-accumulating. Piles are larger every time one looks. A corollary of this theory is that cords will automatically tangle themselves up no matter how or where you store them. They only need a couple of minutes, too.

You should see my shop. I've collected 30 years worth of junk in only 15 years.

looking good indeed.
i like the color of the first one, faschinating.
it´s a good thing that you do your stems, from the beginning your self.
