Adding initials to the side of a stem...

Any suggestions on adding initials on the side of a black stem.
The initials wanted would be white... I am guessing that if one places some type of white material over the stem and then imprints the initials with steel lettering that the material will be imbedded in the lettering.
But what material could one use?

What other ways can white initials be added to a stem??

Thanks, Patrick

Stamp your stem, paint the stamp with White Out, and buff lightly.

Thanks for info. Will the liquid white hold up well? What about using white enamel with a very fine hair line brush and then buffing?? Patrick

Maybe I should have included hand sanding the area before buffing. I've never actually done it myself, but I know people who do.

If you've got a good deep crisp stamping, the White Out will hold up well.

Have you ever tried to get that stuff off of anything?

I use white acrylic (water base) paint. You don't have to be careful about where it goes, since you lightly sand it, when it's dry, to remove any that isn't inside the imprint. After buffing it stands out crisp and white against the black.
