Rosewood?

Hi there!
A friend of mine has a well used pipe, and well smoking too!
But since its made of rosewood, wich of I am unsure about (toxicity etc..) I thought it was a good time to ask here!
Is rosewood dangerous?
And is there specific "species" of rosewood wich NOT might be dangerous? (like Indian rosewood)
A really beautiful wood by the way!
(Maybe ill make one out of it! ^^)
